BOULDERING

Bouldering is rope-free climbing on shorter walls, using only climbing shoes and padded flooring for protection.
It’s all about dynamic movement on 14–16 foot walls. Our bouldering area features thick padding below the walls and down-climb holds to help you get back to the ground safely.

TOP-ROPE CLIMBING

Top-rope climbing is a beginner friendly style where the rope runs through an anchor at the top of the wall. A partner manages the rope from the ground to keep the climber secure — this is called belaying.

We offer free instruction and testing for anyone who wants to learn how to belay. Top-rope climbing and belay lessons are included with your day pass or membership.

LEAD CLIMBING

Lead climbing is an advanced style of climbing where you clip the rope in as you go, which means falls can be longer than in top-rope climbing. For safety, both climber and belayer must pass a lead test.
We recommend having solid top-rope skills first.

Getting Started

Do I need an appointment to climb?

Nope! You can come anytime we're open.

How old do I have to be to climb?

Anyone 3 years or older can climb. Anyone under the age of 14 needs adult supervision at all times, unless they are part of a scheduled class.

I just want to watch my group. What do I need to do?

You are welcome to watch climbers. Regardless of participation, we will ask you to sign a waiver while at Contact.

Climbing + Safety

Are rentals included in the cost of the day pass?

Rentals are not included. Shoes, Harnesses and Belay Devices are $5.00 each, or $9.00 for the set.

What kind of belay devices are allowed?

Contact requires assisted braking devices. Examples include the Gri-Gri, the Pilot, Jul by Edelrid, etc. You may use any assisted braking device but you must be familiar with the manufacture's recommended use of the device and be able to pass a belay test using it.

What do I have to do to belay others?

Pass a test! We offer TR/Lead pass offs throughout the day.

Why do I have to wear climbing shoes?

YES. We require climbing shoes to protect our climbing holds and walls. Street shoes carry dirt and oils that we do not want on our walls.
